In this Construction 101 course (part of a three part series), you’ll be introduced to phases of construction projects. This course is great for emerging construction professionals eager to understand the process flows of a project from Preconstruction to Post Construction.

The course breaks down the construction process into three main phases—Preconstruction, Construction, and Post Construction. In the Preconstruction phase, you will learn about planning and design, bidding, contracts, and procurement. Then, explore the Construction phase, learn about daily operations, safety measures, and documentation standards. In the Post Construction phase, the focus shifts to the project's final touches, including dealing with punch lists, closeouts, and documentation handovers. Throughout the course, you will learn about the importance of communication and coordination among all parties involved to prevent costly delays and issues. The course discusses the responsibilities of general and specialty contractors throughout each phase, as well as the tools and processes they use to keep everything on track, on time, and within budget.
