In this foundational Construction 101 course, part of a three-part series, you’ll be introduced to the construction industry and the most common roles involved in construction projects. This course is great for emerging construction professionals that want to establish a firm understanding of the construction project team. You'll discover how key companies and personas work together on construction projects, including Owners, Designers, and Contractors. The course guides you through each role, from project inception to completion, while emphasizing the importance of collaboration and effective communication among stakeholders. You'll gain insights into the challenges of managing diverse teams and navigating a constantly evolving jobsite.

Throughout the course, you'll explore the unique dynamics of construction projects, understanding that each project is a prototype with its own set of variables, such as design, materials, and regulations. You’ll discuss the importance of teamwork and leveraging technology to drive great project outcomes. The course explores the role of Owners, who drive the project's vision, and see how Architects and Engineers work together to bring that vision to life through detailed plans and specifications. You'll then explore the roles of General Contractors and Specialty Contractors in turning these plans into a built reality.

By completing this course, you'll strengthen your understanding of the companies and people in the construction industry, and how they are instrumental to project initiation and execution. It provides a solid foundation of industry understanding, setting you up for success in your construction career.
